Tips to reduce the IESCO bill
According to accurate research: if you want a reduction in the electricity bill, keep an eye on these elements:
- Do Not use electricity in the refrigerator, A.C., heater, water motors and all machines at peak hours.
- Try to set your A.C. to a moderate temperature.
- Try to install ceilings in the rooms, offices or halls
- Give priority to Inverter items
- To check the consumed units per day
- Try to fix the Air conditioner at 26 Permanently
- Turn off the electronic things when you leave the place.
- Turn off all unnecessary plugged devices such as mobile chargers, ovens or television.
common Taxes in IESCO Bill:

E.D.: (Electricity Duty)
This tax applies to all consumers. Electricity Duty = @ 1.5% to all units consumed in the current month.
TV FEE: (PAKISTAN TELEVISION FEE)
It applies to just domestic and commercial consumers of IESCO. For Domestic consumers, the T.V. the fee is Rs. 35.
For commercial consumers, the Pakistani television fee is Rs.60.
GST:(General Sales Tax)
General Sales Tax (GST) @ 17%. This IESCO tax is calculated by adding E.D. and Variable Charges.
INCOME TAX:
Income tax is applied to all IESCO commercial consumers and the domestic consumer.
SALES TAX:
Sales tax applies to commercial consumers as well as industrial consumers.
FPA:(Fuel Price Adjustment)
This tax is changed according to the rates of fuel. Ups and downs are typical in FPA. You can see the current rate through the current month’s bill if anyone wants to check it.
QTR Tariff Adj / DMC (Quarter Tariff Adjustment)
This tax applies to the domestic consumer of IESCO. When they cross a limit of 300 units, this tax applies, whereas, in the case of commercial consumers, it applies to a single unit{ As per condition).
TR Surcharge:(Tariff Rationalization Surcharge)
This type of tax is applied to Industrial consumers.
Adjustment:
When an IESCO consumer is charged a Detection Bill or any other charges, it appears in the Adjustment column.

IESCO is the Islamabad Area Electricity Board (AEB). IESCO works in five districts Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, and Attock.
IESCO (Islamabad Electric Supply Company) is one of the leading companies of WAPDA. It was created on April 25, 1998. NEPRA was granted a license on Saturday, November 03 2001.
